Guntur Tense as Leaders Trade Charges Regarding Pushkaram Works
Guntur: A tense atmosphere is prevailing in Guntur town as leaders of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and YSRCP traded charges on the
just-concluded Krishna Pushkaram works.
Section 144 imposed in several parts of Guntur following the allegations and trading of charges between the two MLAs.
YSRCP MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy alleged that TDP MLA Yarapathineni Srinivasa Rao committed irregularities in the Pushkaram works. Countering
the allegations, Srinivasa Rao asked him to prove his claims. He also offered to tender his resignation if the claims are proved right. However, when
Ramakrishna Reddy was preparing to Dachepalli with the evidence available with him, the local police placed him under house arrest. Simultaneously,
they also placed the TDP MLA also under house arrest.
Following the trading of charges between the two leaders and subsequent house arrests the
areas of Macherla, Gurujala and Dachepalli were tense since late on Sunday. Police have imposed Section 144 in these regions. They have also
taken YSRCP leaders of Piduguralla, Macherla and Dachepalli into preventive custody.
