Govt moots CCTV monitoring of sand sale

Andhra Pradesh government is mulling over CCTV monitoring of the sand mining in the state.
The review meeting on sand policy was conducted by the Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu on Monday.
It was decided at the meeting that the sand would be sold through the DWCRA women group. He said the village committees would also sell the sand and a loan of Rs 5 lakh would be sanctioned to each of such committees.
The sand mining is done in all 58 sand reaches in the state from now onwards under these new guidelines.
