Govt. ignoring re-organisation guarantees: Manmohan Singh

Anantapur: ‘The central government is ignoring the guarantees stated in the State Re-organisation Act’, said the ex-prime minister, Manmohan Singh. He was speaking at a rally organised in Bandlaguda of Anantapur district on the eve of the 10th anniversary of the MGNREGA scheme.

Speaking at the occasion, Manmohan Singh said that BJP had declared in Parliament that it would give special status category to Andhra Pradesh, but was now ignoring it. He revealed that they were all of the opinion that a 5-year special status to Andhra Pradesh would help it develop and it was unfortunate to see that the BJP had not moved in that direction.
