Government Evading Input Subsidy, Farmers In Dire Straits

Opposition YSR Congress Party on Wednesday staged a walk-out from AP Assembly in protest against the government's failure to release the input subsidy to farmers as promised during the elections.

Speaking in Assembly, Leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy lashed out at the government for its anti-farmer and anti-people policies and pointed out that only Rs1,546 crore were released for farmers in the form of input subsidy from the Central funds and remaining Rs6,400 crore were diverted for other purposes.

Instead of fulfilling its own promises to farmers, the government is diverting the attention of people by raising irrelevant issues, YS Jagan said.
