Gold Worth Rs 16 Lakh Seized At Shamshabad Airport
Hyderabad: Customs officials seized 500 grams gold worth Rs 16 lakh from a passenger on Tuesday at Rajiv Gandhi Hyderabad International Airport (RGIA) as the passenger was trying to smuggle in the precious metal.
"During checking, the Customs officials found a pouch on the upper part of the body of the passenger in which he had concealed two gold bars weighing 250 grams each," said senior official.

The flyer has not been arrested as the value of seized gold was less than Rs 20 lakh. Further investigation is on.
The passenger, who landed from a Sharjah flight, was waylaid by the officers of the Customs Air Intelligence Unit as he was walking the officers of the Customs Air Intelligence Unit.
