Vijayawada: In Kerala, if a person gives an assurance he has to implement it; otherwise he is not only disregarded as a human being but even his manhood would be at stake, said the general secretary of the National Women's Federation, Ani Raja. She was making a reference to AP chief minister Chandrababu Naidu.

“For the sake of revenue, people are being turned into drunkards”, she remarked. She was speaking on Friday, at a conference organised at the Hanumantharaya Grandhalaya here, on the topic of prohibition. 27 Women organisations were present at this conference.

Speaking at the conference, the CPM women leader Brinda Karat expressed criticism that Chandrababu Naidu has replaced 'Janma Bhoomi' with 'Madhya Bhoomi', and added that “It is a shame to use alcohol for revenue generation.”
