Give us dual membership in AP, T assemblies, YSRCP MP demands - Sakshi Post

Telangana state working Commitee president and YSRCP Khammam MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Thursday urged the Lok Sabha speaker to grant dual membership to the MLAs representing seven mandals of Khammam which have been merged into Andhra Pradesh after bifurcation.

He brought to the notice of the Speaker that seven mandals - Kukkanur, Velerupadu, VR Puram, Chinthanur, Koonavaram, Bhadrachalamand Burgampadu - consisting of 211 villages and 34 thousand families - are facing a peculiar problem
Submitting a letter to the speaker, the YSRCP MP said "These seven mandals were part of their assembly segments at the time of election, are now part of Andhra Pradesh after the merger. One of the Telangana MLAs, Mr. Tati Venkateswara Rao himself is a resident of Velerupadu, which is one of the seven mandals merged in AP."
He further said "The people from these seven mandals are coming to them with their grievances and they are powerless to take their issues with Andhra Government, as they are now MLAs of Telangana State not MLAs in those area. The question is who will solve their problems."
He also mentioned in the letter that he made a representation to the Election Commission of India to find a solution for this problem but it is facing such a strange request for the first time.
