14-year-old Girl and Lover Commit Suicide Over Delay in Marriage

Hyderabad: A 14-year-old girl and a man committed suicide separately in Lingareddypalli in Mahbubnagar district following an argument for marriage.

According to the police, Tirumalesh (20) passed SSC and was a shepard and the girl was studying in class VIII. Both were in a relationship and decided to get married after the girl completed her studies. On Saturday the girl insisted on getting married quickly and the couple got into an argument.

Following this, the girl felt dejected and committed suicide by hanging herself from a tree on Saturday night. Next morning, Tirumalesh also hanged himself fearing he would be held responsible.

Police said that both the families knew about the relationship and wanted to marry them off after the completion of the girl's studies.
