Girl Immolates Self After Father Refuses To Buy Mobile For Her 

Panaji: A 17-year-old girl committed suicide by setting herself ablaze on Wednesday apparently after her father refused to buy her a mobile phone. The incident happened at her home in Sankhalim village. At the time of incident, her mother was taking bath and her father had gone to drop her elder sister to college.

Bicholim police station official said that when her mother came out of the bathroom, she found her daughter in flames and tried to douse them. Thought the girl was rushed the girl to a community health centre at Sankhalim where she succumbed to her burns. The police have registered a case in connection with the incident.
