Girl Child Bought for Rs. 250, Trained to Beg on Streets

All of 10 years now, the girl was spotted by some good samaritans in Tandur slums. They alerted Child Helpline on their number 1098. Representatives of the Helpline lodged a complaint with Basheerabad police on January 7 following which police launched an investigation and arrested Ramulu, his wife and father on Saturday. The police then handed over the girl to the Helpline officials.
