Gift Kills Newly Married Man in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: In a tragic incident, a newly married man was killed when he opened a gift that he had received on his wedding day exploded near here on Friday. The incident occurred five days after his marriage at Bolangir district in Odisha, when he along with his wife and grandmother were looking the different gifts that were presented to the couple for their wedding.

Tragically, his grandmother who was present at the time when he opened the gift pack, was also killed due to the impact of the explosion.

The man's wife, who was also reportedly injured in the mishap, was rushed to hospital. The doctors said that there is no threat to her life. The police are trying to find out who had given the gift during the wedding reception. The man died while undergoing treatment at Ispat General Hospital in Rourkela.
