General Bazaar Goldsmith, Family Commit Suicide

Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, a couple along with their two kids committed suicide on Friday at Kandoji Bazar under Mahankali police station limits.

According to police, Swaroop (37), a native of Ghoshpara village of West Bengal, was working as a goldsmith at General Bazar in Secunderabad. He was residing at Kandoji Bazar with his wife Deepa (30) and two daughters. The elder daughter Thitli Das (5) was in Class 1 at BRJC School at Parklane and their younger daughter is five-months old.

On Friday, one of Swaroop's customers called him up for the ornaments around 1.30 pm and he asked the customer to wait at the shop as he was having his lunch.

After waiting for sometime at the shop, the customer went to the goldsmith's house, which was locked from outside. When he revisited the house around 8 pm, he still found the door locked. The customer grew suspicious when a high volume of TV was coming out from the house and informed the police.

The police, who rushed to the spot, broke open the doors of the house and was shocked to see that all the family members lying dead on the floor.

They shifted them to a hospital where the doctors declared them brought dead. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem. The cause of death is yet to be ascertained.
