Gang of 4 dupes Siddipet man, 3 held - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: Three out of four people accused of cheating M. Babu Janee of Siddipet, were apprehended by the Abids police on Sunday. The accused cheated the victim by claiming a false auction of vehicles seized by the Prohibition and Excise Department.

Four people involved are Mir Sami Ali, 26 years; Sayeed Bin Hasan, 26 years; Syed Shakeel Ahmed, 30 years and Syed Khusru, 28 years. While the others have been arrested, the 28-year-old Syed Khusru is yet to be apprehended.

The accused claimed the scooters seized by the Hyderabad city police and the ones seized by prohibition and excise department were being auctioned. Mir Sami Ali and his associates convinced Babu Janee that the vehicles were up for auction. Syed Shakil Ahmed posed as P.A to the sub- inspector of Prohibition and excise department and collected Rs. 2.75 lakh from the victim promising to raise a demand draft. While two of the accused engaged the victim, the third went inside the bank.

While the victim waited at the tea – stall, the accused escaped on their two – wheelers. Later, on Sunday evening, the Abids police with the assistance of West Zone Task Force police and the CC camera footage apprehended the three accused.
