Fraud in RTC online ticket reservation under probe

Based on the complaint by RTC officials, the Hyderabad and Vizianagaram Central Crime Station (CCS) police began the investigation into the fraud unearthed in RTC online ticket reservations by Sakshi TV secret operation.
SI Ravindra Reddy has been deputed as investigation officer.
Some agents have managed to procure the user ID and password of manual top-up from an RTC employee at Cheepurupalli in Vzianagaram district and sold tickets indiscriminately. They made money by cancelling tickets in Hyderabad and several towns in the state as part of their plan. Police probe pointed at the Abhibus Company, which was given on contract for running ticket counters. It did not respond on the issue so far. Following the scam, RTC announced cancellation of online top-up booking system across the state. RTC decided to issue tickets through net-banking from June 1.
Meanwhile, PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana’s name is figured as the scam was unearthed in his home town Cheepurupalli. It is alleged that most of the RTC ticket counters are believed to be the benami of Botsa.
Reacting to the allegations, Botsa said on Wednesday a high-level enquiry would be ordered on the fraud and the culprits would be punished.
