Four youth drown in Krishna river in Krishna district

Challapalli (Krishna): Four teenagers drowned while taking a bath in Krishna river near a temple in Kodur mandal in Krishna district on Friday.

The deceased were identified as Jayakrishna (18) son of Nancharaiah, Nagaraju (14) son of Tolusuri Balaiah, Srikanth (16) son of Aarajala Srinu and Pawan Kumar (16) son of Muttapalli Nancharaiah.

According to police, some residents of Suddapalli village of Chebrolu mandal of Guntur district came along with their families to Vishwanathapalli in Kodur mandal of Krishna district on their visit to Addanki Nancharamma temple on Friday. In order to take a dip in the nearby Krishna river, the four teenagers stepped into the water and drowned in the unknown deep waters. After a short while, the family members of the missing youth realised and informed the officials and police about the incident.

The Revenue officials and police reached the spot and have stated the search operation with the help of experienced fishers to fish out the bodies.
