Former Maoist declared innocent in Alipiri case - Sakshi Post

Tirupati: The court has announced its judgement in the case related to the 2003 attack on the chief minister Chandrababu Naidu near Alipiri. The alleged suspect and ex-maoist Damodharam, alias Sake Krishna has been proclaimed by the court to be innocent.

The Tirupati additional senior civil judge on Tuesday stated that he was proclaiming the suspect as innocent as the prosecution was unable to provide proper evidence.

Damodharam, who was listed as accused number 25, was arrested by the Tirupati police in Bengaluru in 2014. The prosecution had lined up evidence from 52 people in court. Both Chandrababu, witness number 14 and minister Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy, witness number 13 did not turn up in spite of the court summons issued to them. The court was then forced to close these two witnesses and issue orders in the case.
