Foreign Student Of Osmania University Held For Smuggling Gold
Hyderabad: A student from Jordan studying a PG course in Osmania University was arrested on Sunday at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport for smuggling gold. The air intelligence team officials seized four gold bars of 24 karat worth Rs12 lakh.
The accused Ibrahim S. Ghazwi traveled from Dubai by Emirates Airlines flight (EK 524) and concealed the 400 grams gold in his blazer jacket. As he was about to leave through exit gate, the officials held him. Upon questioning, he confessed to the crime. Further probe is underway.
