For TDP leaders, Himachal visit was a mere ritual: T Home Minister
Telangana Home Minister Naini Narsimha Reddy, who spent about a week monitoring the arrangements made to retrieve the bodies of students washed away in Beas rive tragedy , said that as a father he could not face such tragedy and worked tirelessly to get the bodies without sleep and food.
Losing their wards was a big shock to the parents, he said and added that not being able to retrieve the body added to their miseries. Seeing their plight, I couldn't bring myself to eat food, he added.
Explaining the situation there, the Home Minister criticized the way the TDP MLAs visited the accident spot. "Andhra Deputy CM China Rajappa, another minister, and an MP came in the morning and left in the evening, as if they were on a tour. They had come only to ensure that Telangana government should not get all the credit. However, we were not working for credit, but for humanity."
This was unfair to bring Andhra and Telangana feelings in such tragedy, he said. "Don't bring Telangana and Andhra feelings into this tragedy. Chandrababu Naidu is only interested in campaigning, not in saving the victims," he said.
