For Greenery at Indira Park, GHMC digs bore-wells - Sakshi Post

"We stopped drawing of water and opted to drill bore-wells to protect the greenery and glory of Indira Park. Currently, the park has a nursery and rose gardens. On Wednesday, we dug three bore-wells in different areas on the park premises. The water table has touched 500 feet below ground level (BGL) and that is the reason for going 500 feet deep," V Damodar, director of the urban forestry wing said.

Damodar said that over the 60 percent of parks maintained by GHMC do not have wave watering facility due to depleted ground water levels. However, they are being maintained by using water tankers.
