First-Year Engineering Student Raped By Senior And Classmate  

Pune: A first-year engineering student at the Raisoni Engineering College in Pune had a bitter experience of rape and betrayal when she was raped, first by a third-year student who had sought her help and then again by her classmate to whom she had confided about the incident.

As per the girl's police complaint, she was approached by the third-year student to help him with his project and while she was there in his room he raped her. The next day she confided this to her classmate who asked her to file a police complaint about the incident immediately.

He asked her to meet him at his hostel room on the pretext of helping her with the complaint; but he too raped her.

The hapless girl then informed her parents and lodged a complaint with the police. The police registered a case under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code and arrested the duo.
