First wife foils man's second wedding in Hyd
It is second time unlucky for Ravi Shankar, a resident of Sanath Nagar who was arrested for dowry harassment from the venue of his second wedding on Saturday morning.
His first wife, Krishnaveni accusing him of harassing her for dowry, reached the wedding venue at Chandragardens in Borabandla, along with Police. The presence of police with a distraught looking woman shocked all guests. Initially, Ravi refused to recognise Krishnaveni. To confirm if Ravi was speaking the truth, the police cross verified the facts with their house owner, who pointed out that Ravi and Krishnveni were indeed married.
Ravi belongs to Badvel of Kadapa district and incidentally his first marriage was a love marriage.
His first wife accused him of harassing her for dowry, and that he forced her to ask her parents for money as well.
Soon, after spending the cash, he again started harassing her for more money. When she made it clear that her parents did not have more money to spare, he planned to get married the second time.
Ravi chose to keep his second wedding plans a secret from his first wife. However she got to know about this and approached the Sanat Nagar police station to lodge a complaint against her cheating husband.
In her report, she said that soon after they were married, Ravi Sankar started torturing her mentally.
Seeking justice, Krishnaveni said that Ravi ruined her life. She also asked how many weddings is he planning on doing?
