Firing in Suryapet: Two policemen killed

Gunshots at 11pm in Suryapet Hitech bus-stand on Wednesday took the lives of two police-men and left two other cops injured.
The four policemen were conducting routine frisking in the buses when two unidentified persons opened fire. They fired four shots killing constable Lingayya and home-guard Mahesh and injured CI Mogilayya and constable arvind. They also injured a passenger before fleeging from the scene. The injured were immediately brought to Hyderabad and admitted to the KIMS. Home Minister Nayini Narsimha Reddy and Commissioner of Police Anand on Thursday morning reviewed the situation and consoled the bereaved family members. According to doctors, CI is recovering but the constable's condition is still critical. Police believe this as the handiwork of Odisha gang of robbers.
Security check points were set up in various places to nab the assailants. More details are awaited.
