Fire at Cache Furniture Showroom

Secunderabad: A major fire engulfed furniture showroom, Cache, near Manju theatre in Secunderabad in the early hours of Sunday.

Local residents who first noticed the fire alerted the fire department. However, the personnel of the department took more than 40 minutes to reach the showroom site, whereas the fire station is located in less than five minutes distance, the residents alleged. Eight fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the flames. Initial reports state that the loss of property will be in several lakhs of rupees.

Short circuit is said to be the cause of the fire. No one was injured in the mishap.
