Fine of Rs.1000 to be charged for jumping signals
Hyderabad: Motorists in the Andhra Pradesh capital will have to shell out as much as Rs 1,000 for certain traffic violations from next week.
Hyderabad Traffic Police is all set to implement a Government Order (GO) that will pave the way for enhancement of fines from August 12. The move is as part of efforts for better traffic management in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, police said, adding before implementation of the GO, they had started an awareness/caution campaign educating the public about its provisions.
The compounding amount has been enhanced substantially under the GO for offences pertaining to signal jumping, using cellphone while driving, overload projection and unauthorised parking. Fine amounts for violations, which earlier ranged between Rs 200 and Rs 500 for these offences, have been raised to Rs 1,000, a police release said.
