Final decision on fee reimbursement at noon

Several ministers are expected to meet today to decide on the fee reimbursement issue.today afternoon at 3pm.

There has been a fee hike of Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh in about 67 colleges in the state. This order was passed by High Court. However, students are left in a lurch as there's a greater burden on them — students have to cough up at least Rs 35,000, burning a hole in their own pocket. Hence, there has been a lot of hue and cry over the issue.

The committee that will meet today is likely to discuss on ways to make the new fee structure student-friendly and less burden on the parents.
The government, on the other hand is all set for beginning the counseling from August 30. This meeting will try to put an end to all the controversies surrounding the issue and finalize on the fee reimbursement structure.
Interestingly, under the new scheme, even students who have gained higher ranking are expected to shell out the same amount as others.
