Film Review: Arjun Reddy
Film: Arjun Reddy
Cast: Vijay Deverakonda, Shalini Pandey, Rahul Ramakrishna, Sanjay Swarup
Director: Sandeep Reddy Vanga
Producer: Pranay Reddy Vanga
Story: The story revolves around a quick-tempered medical student Arjun Reddy (Vijay Deverakonda). He falls for his junior Preethi (Shalini Pandey). As their love blossoms, they graduate in romance and medical studies. However, Preethi's father opposes their relationship and promptly marries her off to a person of his choice. Unable to bear the loss, Arjun Reddy drifts into depression so much so that he neglects his duties as a doctor. He leaves home and falls in bad company. Will he recover from his depression? Will he reunite with his lover? The answers to these questions forms the rest of the story.
Cast: Vijay Deverakonda lives up to the high goals set by the director and shows variations in his character. He does the roles of a lover, an angry young man and a lovelorn person with ease. While it is lucky for an upcoming actor to have so many shades in his role, living up to those is another challenge which Vijay does like a seasoned actor. Shalini Pandey as Preethi does justice to the limited role that she is assigned in the movie. While the entire script moves along the hero's role, the rest of the cast including Rahul Ramakrishna, Sanjay Swarup and Kamal Kamaraju did justice to their roles.
Plus Points: Vijya Deverakonda acting, emotion scenes and comedy
Minus Points: Film length, second half drags
