Fight For Special Category Status: Party Cadre To Leave For Delhi On March 2

Ongole: The fight for Special Category Status (SCS) for Andhra Pradesh will be further intensified and will continue till the objective is achieved, Leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said.

He held a review, on Friday, of the SCS protests at district collectorates held by YSRCP leaders on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, YS Jagan reiterated that the rank and file of the party will not rest till SCS for AP is achieved. The YSRCP chief did not conduct the padayatra on Thursday in view of the YSRCP protests in all the district headquarters. Appreciating the party leaders for the successful conduct of the protests, he called on them to further intensify the agitation in the next phases of the SCS agitation.

Meanwhile, the YSRCP is gearing up for the next phase of the protests to be held in the national capital - New Delhi - on March 5. The YSRCP's SCS protests will be held at Parliament and also at Jantar Mantar. Preparations are underway for the party cadre and leaders to leave for Delhi on March 2 by a special train. It will leave Vijayawada railway station on March 2 (Friday) at 10 pm. After the dharna programme on March 5, the train will start from Delhi at 9 pm and reach Vijayawada on March 7.

The YSRCP MPs will leave for Delhi on March 3. Party chief YS Jagan will flag off the group of MPs from Prakasam district, where he currently conducting the Praja Sankalpa Yatra. On March 5, these MPs will join the party cadre in Delhi at all the protest venues in Delhi.

The party's Parliamentarians (MPs) are also ready to resign to their posts on April 6, if there is no response from the Central government.
