New Delhi: The YSR Congress Party has decided to take the fight for Special Category Status (SCS) to Andhra Pradesh to next level and has initiated massive dharna in New Delhi today. The party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had earlier called for sustained fight from all the sections of people as well as the party supporters until they achieve SCS. As part of the call today the heat of the protest is being felt in the country's capital.

A huge gathering of YSRCP workers, supporters, intellectuals and general public have been come in support of the dharna for achieving SCS to AP at Sansad Marg in New Delhi, People from all walks started coming to the venue from early morning and were protesting, in a peaceful manner, against the centre's attitude towards the state.

MPs, MLAs and MLCs of YSRCP have made it a point to participate in this dharna to stress on the need of SCS and not Special Package as being told by AP CM Chandrababu. YSRCP Senior Leader, Ummareddy Venkateswarulu led the party workers in the public meeting that was arranged at the venue. All MPs, MLAs and MLCs who participated in the dharna voiced out that it was YSRCP Chief YS Jagan who has been relentlessly fighting for Special Category Status (SCS) for Andhra Pradesh for the last five years.

YSRCP has decided that the fight for SCS will continue in Parliament till March 20 and on March 21, the party would move no confidence motion against the NDA government. If the centre does not heed to their demand by the end of this Budget session of Parliament which started today, the YSRCP MPs will resign en masse on April 6.

YS Jagan said that the proposal to move the no confidence motion against the central government and the planned resignation of YSRCP MPs was aimed at securing SCS for AP. Unlike the ruling TDP leaders, the YSRCP chief said that their MPs are ready to resign from their posts for the just cause of SCS to Andhra Pradesh.

All the YSRCP cadre that was present in New Delhi protest also echoed the same views.
