Father strangles 45-day-old baby as he didn't want a girl

In yet another case of female infanticide, a 45-day-old baby was murdered by her father as he did not want a girl child.

The incident took place in Marangoni Kunta tanda in Tekmal, Medak district on Saturday night when Rajender Naik came home drunk. The father strangled the baby, Pavitra, to death and fled from the spot.

Later, when the infant's mother Sunitha went to check on Pavitra, she found blood coming from her mouth. She informed about the incident to her parents on Sunday. The parents inturn informed the police.

Rajender Naik was married to Sunitha seven years ago and have a daughter and a mentally challenged son.

Police have launched a manhunt to nab Rajendar.
