Fears Of Dog Biryani In City Restaurants Allayed

Hyderabad: Biryani lovers can now heave a sigh of relief as the Cyber crime police put an end to the speculation that 'Bow Bow' (dog meat) biryani is being served to customers in restaurants in the city. The police apprehended an MBA student from the Old City for allegedly circulating images and spreading defamatory content against the Shah Ghouse hotel.

It may be recalled that the GHMC officials and Food Safety inspectors raided Shah Ghouse restaurant in Mehdipatnam following news that dog biryani was served to people instead of mutton biryani. The officials seized meat, biryani and other food samples and sent them for analysis on December 8. Following the raid and the arrest of the owner, they has been sudden decrease of the business. Several other food chains in the city too affected following the news and continuous airing of news items in the media. With the demonetization too playing truant, the biryani lovers had to confine themselves to indoors during weekends.

The accused identified as Valaboju Chandra Mohan (22), a student from Rikab Gunj of Madina, had devised a plan to make his friends hate biryani. For this, the accused first searched various websites and content of dog meat and downloaded them. Later, he had shared them in WhatsApp group of his school friends stating that dog meat is being mixed in biryani points in Hyderabad. The panic caused among the people in social networking sites prompted the GHMC officials to raid Shah Ghouse hotel.

With the arrest of the accused, the food outlets and restaurants in the city are hoping some revival in their business.
