Fearing protests, JP postpones Telugu Tejam yatra - Sakshi Post

Lok Satta Party national president Jayaprakash Narayan has been forced to postpone his ‘Telugu Tejam’ yatra after he was booed and jeered by Samaikyandhra protesters in Anantapur district.

During his speech at a private kalyan mandap in the district, JP was repeatedly obstructed by the protesters who demanded for his clear stand on state’s division.

When the activists demanded that he raise the slogans in favour of Samaikyandhra, JP turned down their request, stating that Lok Satta Party would not shift its stance region-wise. Irked by this, they raised slogans against JP and the situation forced the police to resort to a mild lathi charge

JP had suffered a similar fate during his tour in Kurnool district yesterday. The activists had forced him to say 'Jai Samaikyandhra'.

Police escort JP away from the protestors as they surrounded the car in which JP was traveling.
