Angry farmers stall Pattiseema project works
Polavaram: The TDP government's hasty approach towards Pattiseema project invited flak from farmers who forced the contract workers to halt the project works.
On Tuesday, the farmers stalled the works on the project demanding compensation immediately.
Farmers questioned the authorities as to why the works started even before the payment of compensation. They said it was agreed to pay them Rs.19.53 Lakh per acre towards compensation and then start the works in their lands. When Tehsildar offered to pay the amount in 60 days, the farmers rejected it and said that they would allow works only after paying the compensation.
The farmers who were earlier cheated with such false promises stayed firm in their decision. Farmers, Tailam Sri RamaChandramurthy , Kedasu Mohan Rao, Eduredi Lakshmi, Thoram Sai, Aravali Raju, Bandi Krishna, Gopala Venkatesh led the farmers.
