Family Urges for Help as Father, Son Lost Kidneys
Hyderabad: A father and son of a poor family in Ram Nagar have been suffering from failure of both kidneys and are urging for financial help or kidney donors.
Hanumaiah, (53), belongs to Medibavi in Adikmet in Ram Nagar area, has been vegetables vendor for many years now. Two years back, his 22 year-old younger son Chiranjeevi's both kidneys failed functioning and since then he has been undergoing dialysis twice a week. The doctors said it will be difficult for Chiranjeevi's life in future if both the kidneys are not replaced soon. To save his son, the poor family of Hanumaiah was struggling to bear the medical expenses for the regular dialysis.
Adding another tragic twist to the already struggling family, three months back, Hanumaiah was diagnosed at Kamineni Hospital in the city after he was indisposed where the doctors declared that both the kidneys of the man were damaged. Now, both father and son are undergoing dialysis twice a week. On a monthly basis, for both father and son, dialysis is costing Rs. 30,000 to 40,000.
To save her husband and son, Laxmi is now working at a private school for a monthly salary of Rs. 4,000. The family borrowed loans from neighbors and acquaintances and now they are not in a position to bear the medical expenses any more.
Father and son are now looking for kidney donors or financial help.
