Family Alleges Hospital Staff Swapped Their Male Baby With Baby Girl
Hyderabad: A family alleged that their male baby was swapped with a baby girl by the staff of Koti government maternity hospital.
One P. Chatru said that the hospital staff informed him that his wife Rajini gave birth to boy while shifting the baby to Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

While taking the baby to Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), a hospital worker told the family members that it was a boy. Later, the hospital staff informed the family that there was a mistake and another woman who underwent surgery in the same ward along with Rajani has given birth to a boy and Rajani gave birth to a girl
However, the hospital staff later claimed that his wife gave birth to a girl and the previous communication was a mistake.
“While taking the baby to Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), a hospital worker told the family members that it was a boy. Later, the hospital staff informed the family that there was a mistake and another woman who underwent surgery in the same ward along with Rajani has given birth to a boy and Rajani gave birth to a girl,” said T Sudhakar, Sultan Bazar SI.
Rajani, native of Mahbubnagar was admitted at the hospital for delivery on Monday and on Tuesday she gave birth to a child.
Sudhakar said that statements will be recorded from the doctor who performed the operations. Meanwhile, the family has lodged a complaint with the police for the goof-up and staged a dharna in front of the hospital.
