Fake Matrimonial Broker Arrested

The accused issued advertisements in vernacular dailies under ‘Pelli Chuppulu’ column - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: Central Crime Station (CCS) sleuths arrested a fraudster T. Krishna on Thursday for cheating people and collecting money by promising to find suitable matches for ambitious brides and grooms.

The accused Krishna is a resident of Vanasthalipuram who issued advertisements in vernacular dailies under `Pelli Chuppulu' column.

The accused asks the victim to deposit an amount in his bank account to get the contact number of suitable match

Upon seeing the advertisement victims approach Krishna to know the details of prospective alliance but the accused asks the victim to deposit an amount in his bank account. However, the fraudster gives a fake contact number.

In one such case a victim J. Sridas approached Krishna who was then directed to send his photo along with his profile. Later the accused called Sridas to share details of prospective alliance and asked to deposit Rs 5,000 in his account to get the contact number of a suitable match for him.

But as Sridas called the number it was switched off. Again after few days Krishna called the victim to give contact number of another alliance and is asked to pay Rs,3000.

However, Sridas soon realized that he is being duped and approached the police who then arrested the accused.
