Faction feuds claim two lives in Anantapur

Anantapur: Two persons were hacked to death in suspected faction feuds in Anantapur district on Thursday. The deceased allegedly belonged to Paritala Ravi group and were known to have differences with MLA Prabhakar Chowdary in the past.

The incident took place in Chandrababu Nagar on Thursday afternoon. The deceased, identified as Gopi Naik and Venkatesh Naik were travelling on a bike when unidentified assailants waylaid them in an auto rickshaw. They then attacked Gopi and Venkatesh with sickles and brutally hacked them to death.

The police revealed that Gopi and Venkatesh were relatives and were alleged to have been involved in the murder of one, Narsimhulu. According to the police four attempts were made in the past to kill Gopi and Venkatesh.

The police have registered a case and have moved the bodies to a government hospital for postmortem.
