Facebook Relationship Proves Fatal For 29-year-old Woman

Chittoor: A friendship via Facebook led to a relationship that proved fatal for a 23-year-old married woman in Madanapalle town of Chittoor town. The woman was unable to withstand the pressure from her Facebook lover, who demanded returning of the cash and a vehicle that he gifted her. She committed suicide by consuming poison on Thursday night. Police are investigating the case.

Pavani Reddy, daughter of Gongati Venkata Ramana Reddy and Sadguna, was married to SK Ahmed Basha, an auto driver in Bujabuje village. Raman Reddy is a resident of Yanamadugu village, Kovvuru mandal in Nellore district.

After her love marriage, she developed a relationship with a two-wheeler showroom dealer thanks to the Facebook. Both of them engaged in chatting for over 18 months. The dealer gifted Pavani a vehicle and cash hoping to marry her. He didn't know the woman was married.

Upon coming to know of her marriage, the dealer started pressurizing her to payback his money and give back the vehicle. Pavani came to Nandyala to take coaching for bank exams. On Thursday night, she arrived Madanapalle to convince her Facebook lover. Later, Pavani committed suicide by consuming poison after sending a message to her husband.

Onlookers immediately called 108 emergency van. Pavani died on the way to a hospital in Tirupati. Police found Rs14,600 cash, two cell phones and jewellery, and informed her parents and husband. Ramana Reddy. Ahmed Basha lodged a complaint with the police and further investigation is on.
