Explosion In Tuni Fire Cracker Unit, 4 Critically Hurt

An explosion in a firecracker unit in Isukalapata of Tuni town in East Godavari district has left four workers critically injured. They have been rushed to the Kakinada government general hospital and the fire service personnel are fighting fires.

On Tuesday morning, there was a huge explosion and within minutes all the stored explosives caught fire and the whole shed was reduced to ashes. Four persons working in the unit at that time suffered critical injuries. The condition of three of them - Ramesh, Durga and Kakireddy - is highly critical.

The firecracker unit has the required license. The unit is owned by Ch Ramana of Payakaraopet. RDO Visweswara Rao and DSP Rajasekhar rushed to the spot.
