Excise Inspector, constable held for taking bribe
An Inspector and constable of Excise department were arrested today for allegedly accepting bribe of Rs 15,000 in Andhra Pradesh's Vizianagram district, Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials said.
Prohibition and Excise Inspector at Vizianagaram, D Nagabhushana Rao, was nabbed while accepting bribe of Rs 15,000 from a wine shop owner through constable P Janardhan Reddy for doing a favour by not booking cases against the complainant's shop, an ACB release said here. Meanwhile, in another case, panchayat secretary S K Khader Saheb in West Godavari district was caught while taking Rs 9,000 as bribe from the complainant for doing an official favour, the release said.
