Exam Fear Drives Class 10 Boy to Suicide in Chittoor

Pileru: A 10 Class studying student committed suicide by drowning himself in a pond since he was unable to fair well in the examinations. The incident occurred in Thalapula in Pileru mandal of Chittoor district and came to light this morning when the student's dead body was found in a pond near his hostel.

According to the Pileru police, the victim is Bhanuprakash (15) native of Jangampalle, son of GM Krishnayya and Renuka. He was studying in ZP High School at Thalapula while staying in the hostel in that place. The boy has been disturbed over not getting good marks for over a month now. His parents have been encouraging him to study well and supported him.

On Tuesday, during the pre-final examination held in the school, the teacher of the school caught Bhanuprakash and his friend red-handed while copying. He warned them and told if they do the same during public examinations they would be debarred. The teacher suggested them to study well so that they can get better marks and even called up Bhanuprakash's father informing about the copying.

Bhanuprakash was depressed because we was unable to remember whatever he has studied and also about the low marks that he was scoring. On the same day he went to hostel left his school bag and walked away. He was not traceable since then. The hostel mates informed about his missing to warden who in turn told his parents and complained to the police.

After search for him all over the village, and in relatives houses, they found Bhanuprakash dead body in the pond next to his hostel. The body was sent to Pileru government hospital for post-mortem and the police have filed a case of suicide.
