Ex-Serviceman’s Gun Misfires in Begumpet, 2 Injured

Hyderabad: Two persons have been injured when a gun of a security officer allegedly misfired at Axis Bank here in Begumpet today. According to the police, the injured have been identified as Maheshwara Rao and Srinivas. The accused is ex-serviceman Suresh Kumar, currently working with Grace Securities and is posted as security officer in Axis Bank.

Suresh told the police that his gun went off in the morning while he was cleaning it. Maheshwara Rao and Srinivas suffered injuries due to the mishap. They were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital. The incident caused panic among people in Begumpet.

The police along with CLUES team rushed to the spot. The CCTV footage is being examined to ascertain whether it was a misfire or a deliberate attempt from Suresh. The injured are said to be out of danger and are recovering in the hospital. Suresh has been taken into custody by the police for interrogation.
