Every Household in Telangana to Get Broadband Internet by March 2018

Hyderabad: As part of digital literacy program of Telangana Government, broadband internet will be available for households across Telangana 18 months from now, according to IT Minister KT Rama Rao.

“Works related to laying broadband internet lines in the trenches dug for water pipelines are progressing as per the schedule. Through the digital literacy programme of the TRS government, every household family in the State will get broadband internet and benefit from the digital way of life.”

The present challenges result in grassroots innovation and harness local talent. We invite experts and entreprenuers from all the corners of the country to come over to Hyderabad to build solutions to accelerate India’s digitization and commercially develop their prototypes on Intel Architecture. The initiative is expected to help find viable solutions to address everyday problems.

KTR spoke at the launch of Intel India’s ‘Innovate for Digital India Challenge 2.0’ at T-hub here on Thursday.

Debjani Ghosh, MD and V-P (Sales & Marketing), Intel South Asia, said, “Innovation is the key ingredient for making the Digital India vision a reality, and we need a local, sustainable innovation ecosystem, to address the country’s challenges.’’

The Challenge will roll-out in five phases this year and the finale will take place in April 2017. Shortlisted teams will be eligible to receive Rs 3 lakh grant each, to create minimum-viable products based on Intel Architecture (iA) in an accelerator program at the T-Hub incubator in Hyderabad.
