Eve teasing: Degree student ends life

Frustrated over being allegedly eve-teased regularly by a youth of her locality in Miryalaguda, about 120 km from Hyderabad, a degree student allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself today.

Harika, a degree student of a local college in Nalgonda district, was found hanging herself from the ceiling fan in her home on Sunday morning, according to police.

The relatives of the victim alleged that she was being harassed and teased by a group of roadside Romeos everyday. Her parents and relatives staged a protest with the body of Harika near the local bus stop, demanding strict action against the eve teasers.

A case has been registered.  This is the second such suicide in the State this year.
