ESL Narasimhan, last and first Governor

Andhra Pradesh has been divided officially on Monday. The Telugu speaking people now have two states, namely Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

E.S.L.Narasimhan, who was the last Governor of undivided Andhra Pradesh, will be the first Governor for both the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Narasimhan took oath as the Governor of Telangana on Monday morning.

Narasimhan administered the oath of office and secrecy to K.Chandrasekhar Rao as the chief minister.

The 71 year old Narasimhan was an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of 1968 batch and retired as the Director of Intelligence Bureau (IB).

He was born in Tamil Nadu in 1946. He completed his graduation in Physics and post graduation in Political Science and Law.

He was appointed as the Governor for Andhra Pradesh in December 2009.
