Vijayashanti, Mahesh Babu Share Screen Space After 30 Years In Sarileru Neekevarru

Hyderabad: Actress Vijayashanthi is making a return to the arc lights after a hiatus of 13 years with Mahesh Babu's action drama Sarileru Neekevvaru .

Director Anil Ravipudi shared the first pic of Vijayashanti from the sets of Sarileru Neekevvaru,which is her comeback movie, where she will be playing a crucial role in the film.

The director shared the photograph of Vijayashanti's first-day shoot on Twitter with a message stating- "After 13 years.. It's make up time for Vijayashanthi garu.. Nothing has ever changed in all these 13 years. Same discipline, same attitude and same dynamism. Welcome on-board @vijayashanthi_m," he posted.

It may be recollected that she debuted in Telugu films with Mahesh Babu's father Super star Krishna in a film called Khiladi Krishnudu in the year 1980. She went on to act with him and other Telugu heroes in careers spanning 39 years.

She also has the distinction of acting with Mahesh Babu who played the role of her son in Koduku Diddina Kapooram in 1989 who was a child artiste then.

Now exactly after 30 years she will be seen sharing screen space with the Super Star once again in Sarileru Neekevvaru.

A glamour heroine, Vijayashanthi also went on to be called the Lady Amitabh, and ruled the industry for more than a decade as number one actress in the 90's. Apart from her glamour roles she also acted in heroine-centric films like Pratighatana, Repati Pourulu, Osey Ramulamma etc. and managed to balance both glamour and lady-oriented roles in the Telugu film industry.

She won the National Award for Best Actress for her fiery performance as a cop in Karthavyam and took the award along with Amitabh Bachchan who won the Best Actor Award for his role in the film Agneepath, in the year 1990.Apart from this she also has four Nandi State Awards and Six Filmfare awards for Best Actress.Nayduamma was her last film in the year 2006 before she took the plunge into politics.

Now after a gap of about 13 years she accepted the role offered by director Anil Ravipudi.

Sarileru Neekevvaru has started its second schedule of shooting in Hyderabad. Directed by Anil Ravipudi , Rashmika plays the heroine in the film next to Mahesh Babu, along with a stellar cast of actors Prakashraj, Naresh, Ramyakrishna, Rajendra Prasad and others in the movie. Music is By Devi Sri Prasad which is jointly produced by Dilraju, Mahesh Babu and Ramabrahman Sunkara.The film is slated for a Sankranthi release next year.

On the occasion of Superstar Mahesh's Birthday (August 9th), The First look, Intro Teaser of 'Sarileru Neekevvaru' released. The Intro Teaser showcases Superstar Mahesh Babu stylishly as a Soldier with lyrics 'Sarileru Neekevvaru.. Nuvvelle Rahadariki Johaaru.. Sarileru Neekevvaru.. Enaleni Tyaganiki Nuvve Maari Peru..' which aptly depicts the characterisation of Mahesh Babu.
