The 66th National Film awards were announced by Rahul Rawail, head of the Jury for feature films, on Friday. Tollywood films like Mahanati, Rangasthalam, Chilasow and Awe! won national awards in the categories Best Costume (Mahanati), Best Makeup and VFX(Awe), Best Sound Mixing (Rangasthalam) and Best Original Screenplay (ChiLaSow). Mahanati fame Keerthy Suresh won the Best Actress award after Vijayashanthi for Karthavyam, 28 years ago.

Megastar fans are trolling the national awards Jury for not awarding the Best Actor award to Mega Power star Ram Charan, who played his career-best role in Rangasthalam, directed by Sukumar.

Manchu Vishnu too made some comments against Ram Charan which has gone viral on social media. In his tweet, he said "No offense to the other winners, but in my honest opinion my bruh Ram Charan deserved to win the National award for best actor in Rangasthalam. By far, it was one of the best performances by any actor in the recent times. Anyways the audience love is the biggest award."
