This Telugu Filmmaker Got A National Award For A Marathi Film

Hyderabad: Telugu Filmmaker Sudhakar Reddy Yakkanti won the National Award for Best Debut Director for Naal (Marathi). Sudhakar Reddy hails from Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh and has several movies to his kitty in Hindi, Telugu and Marathi as an ace Cinematographer. His most acclaimed works is “Sairat” which had also won a National Award in the year 2016. He holds a Post-Graduate Diploma from FTII, Pune ( Film And Television Institute of India ) and is known for his versatility. Naal is his directorial debut for which he had received great appreciation from various quarters. His 3 upcoming projects are based on real life characters, Saand Ki Aankh Starring Taapsee Pannu, Bhumi Pednekar, Jhund starring Superstar Amitabh Bachchan which is based on the life of Vijay Barse, the founder of NGO Slum Soccer, George Reddy, a biopic in Telugu based on the life of a student leader who fought for the rights of the students of Osmania University in Hyderabad during early 1960-70’s.
