The year 2019 started on a wrong foot for Superstar Mahesh Babu. He has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons, though he is largely seen as an apolitical star. Recently, Mahesh Babu's newly launched AMB theatre was booked for GST fraud. He was a victim of heavy trolling on social media. Meanwhile, there was some good news which came Mahesh Babu's fans' way. The star has given an additional profit of 35.66 Lakhs that has been collected as a part of GST on ticket prices of AMB Cinemas to 'Consumer Welfare Fund of India'. His fans were happy with Mahesh Babu's decision. Mahesh Babu has always been seen as a star whose heart beats for a genuine cause.

Mahesh Babu could be under pressure due to bad publicity to him and the theatre. It is being said that he is unable to devote his full time even for his upcoming film 'Maharshi. Mahesh's 'Maharshi' is a hugely awaited movie which was supposed to release on April-5. It is being speculated that the makers have shifted the release date of 'Maharshi' to May due to Lok Sabha elections. 'Mahesh Babu focussed on his shoot regardless of the problems he faced.. 'Maharshi' was next scheduled to be shot in Shamshabad airport. Mahesh Babu reached the airport on time to complete its scene, the airport officials made him wait for five hours, because Shamshabad airport on Sunday was on high alert after receiving a threatening call of hijack from an unknown person. Later, Mahesh Babu and the filmmaker cancelled the shoot for the day.

'Maharshi' is directed by Vamsi Paidipally and produced by Dil Raju. Pooja Hegde and Allari Naresh will be seen in prominent roles.
