Sridevi Saree Auction For Charity: The Bid Starts At...
February 24th this year marks the one year death anniversary of legendary actress Sridevi. The actress, who was attending the wedding of her nephew, Mohit Marwah along with the entire Kapoor clan in Dubai, breathed her last after accidentally drowning in her bathtub.
Recently, Boney Kapoor held a puja for his late wife at her maternal house in Chennai.
Sridevi, apart from delivering powerful performances, also garnered the fashion icon tag with her wide range of sarees. Be it the saree she donned in the famous song of Mr. India, or the saree in Chandni, the actress added a sense of her style in every one of them.
To honour his wife, Boney Kapoor is auctioning a Kota Saree online for a charitable cause.
Beginning at a bid of Rs 40,000, the saree is being auctioned on Parisera with the maximum limit being fixed as Rs 1.25 lakh so far.
The official website shared a statement describing the saree, "Sridevi's style has evolved since her early days in the film industry. But, the six yards has been a constant reminder of her roots. Being born in a South-Indian household, the actress has worn saris as a badge of her identity and has always infused a sense of unique charisma into its pleats."
The proceedings of the auction will be given to Concern India Foundation which works for the benefit of women, children, the underprivileged, the differently-abled, and the elderly apart from works in the field of education.
