Viswasam, Petta Weekend Collections  

The Pongal weekend seems to have favoured Superstar Rajinikanth and Ajith's Viswasam at the box office. Though, both the movies have clashed at the box office, Petta and Viswasam have become a visual treat for cine-buffs. According to sources, Rajinikanth's Petta has emerged as the winner in Pongal race as it got released in three languages-Telugu, Hindi and Tamil.

A point to be noted is that Viswasam was released in a single language but its collections are close to Petta. If we take a look at both the movie collections, Petta has trumped Viswasam in the opening weekend at the ticket window. Viswasam missed the race by just a whisker. Now, it remains to be seen if Viswasam bags the first spot in the second week by beating Rajinikanth's Petta.

According to reliable sources, Rajinikanth has collected Rs 128.50 cr gross at the worldwide box office. On the other hand, Ajith's Viswasam went on to earn Rs 109.30 crore at the worldwide box office within five days of its release. Both the movies opening weekend collections are pretty impressive.
